BALTIMORE, MD, October 12, 2023 – Jonathan Owen of General Motors and Stephen C. Graves of MIT, have been awarded the 2023 George E. Kimball Medal for recognition of distinguished service to INFORMS and to the profession of operations research and the management sciences (OR/MS). Both recipients have been standout members of INFORMS, volunteering their time to their peers and the profession as a whole.

Jacobson, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, has been awarded the 2023 INFORMS President’s Award for his significant work in advancing the field of operations research (O.R.) through his research contributions focusing on homeland security, healthcare and public health, and his influential thought leadership in communicating and engaging with the general public and government officials.
