Position Statement
Over the years, INFORMS has been in the forefront of developing technical journals and allied publications that have come to be recognized as the definitive sources of record in our field. This has been realized with the hard work and dedication of a resourceful group of volunteers, asking little if anything in return. As one who is an ongoing contributor, I am proud to be part of this tradition and would greatly appreciate your support in my bid for Vice President of Publications.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to ensure the integrity of the journals, trouble-shoot problems with the Editors, and identify creative ways to strengthen the individual publications. Of course, these will be my main focus should I be elected, but I will also be supportive of the ongoing effort to expand our scholarly offerings by launching new journals when the demand exists. We are all excited about the new opportunities presented by alternative media for presenting our ideas and recounting our experiences. As technology advances, we must continue to search for ways to be more effective in disseminating the knowledge we create and to amplify the voice and visibility of our sections and societies.
