Position Statement
I am honored to be nominated for Vice President of Publications. Publications are truly the lifeblood of INFORMS. Our journals enjoy worldwide reputations at the pinnacle of their respective fields. More than simply disseminating information, they define our fields and chart our progress in solving important world problems. Publications are also critical to the financial health of INFORMS. Representing nearly two-thirds of the Institute’s revenues, publications allow our organization to serve us all in many ways.
Serving at different times as an editorial board member of Interfaces, Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Transportation Science, I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to the scholarly and financial health of our portfolio of important journals. Working with the INFORMS Board, journal editors, publications committee, and the INFORMS Director of Publications, I would seek to promote the quality and impact of INFORMS publications. I would also work with the Director of Communications and the Marketing, Communications, and Outreach Group to elevate the visibility and access to our scholarship. As part of the INFORMS leadership team, I would seek to attract leading scholars to serve as Editors-in-Chief of our journals and would support them in their mission to publish the best research.
