Conference on Optimization in Public Transport

ECOPT, the Erasmus Center for Optimization in Public Transport,
presents the first conference in the Netherlands aimed at
optimization methods for problems arising in public transport
scheduling. The conference offers six presentations, divided
over three plenary sessions corresponding to the main modes of
public transport: airline, railway and bus. Since most problems
presented for one mode of transportation also arise in other
transport modes, the conference provides an opportunity to
exchange knowledge with experts from different transportation
fields. As an example, the airline crew scheduling problem is
similar to the crew scheduling problem arising in bus and
railway transport.
