With renewal season fast approaching, the INFORMS Membership Committee and Board of Directors are happy to announce there will be no dues increase for 2013. Not only will dues levels remain the same, but members will continue to choose two online dues journals instead of one. Print versions of our member magazine, OR/MS Today, will also be sent automatically to all domestic members at no additional postage cost. Watch for your first opportunity to renew early and possibly win an iPad 2. Details coming mid-September.

The Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (MSOM) promotes the enhancement and dissemination of knowledge, and the efficiency of industrial practice, related to the operations function in manufacturing and service enterprises. The members of MSOM include researchers, educators, consultants, practitioners and students, with backgrounds in these and other applied sciences.

MSOM currently operates five Special Interest Groups (SIGs), representing the varied interests of the society members: service management, supply chain management, Interface of Finance, Operations, and Risk Management (iFORM), health operations management, and sustainable operations. The society publishes a quarterly journal titled Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (M&SOM), which is the premier journal of the operations management research community. To encourage high-quality research, the society has set up several awards including the Student Paper Competition Award and Service Award, as well as the renowned Fellow Award. The society also holds an annual research meeting in the summer, and it has gained increasing popularity.
