The INFORMS Board, administration and membership extend condolences to the family of William W. Cooper, who passed away this week at age 97. The first president of The Institute of Management Sciences (TIMS), one of the predecessor societies to INFORMS; a founder of the management science field and, together with former TIMS President Abe Charnes the winner of the John von Neumann Theory Prize, Prof. Cooper was a seminal figure in the world of management sciences for more than 70 years. We mourn his passing.
Patricia Shaffer, INFORMS Director of Publications, has announced her retirement, effective July 6, after 14 years at INFORMS. Miranda Walker, who has been the Publications Manager for INFORMS since 2006, will succeed Pat as Director of Publications. The INFORMS family wishes Pat Shaffer much enjoyment in her retirement and welcomes Miranda Walker as her successor.
Congratulations to Richard Caron of the University of Windsor. Prof.Caron was recognized with the school's Alumni Award for Distinguished Contributions to University Teaching during a convocation on June 13. Dr. Caron, who began teaching at the University in 1983, estimates that he has taught 2,495 students in 69 courses. He cites a Chinese proverb when asked to describe his teaching philosophy: "Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand."

As of June 1, 2012, authors are required to submit their manuscripts electronically through Mathematics of Operation Research's ScholarOne Manuscripts. Instructions for accessing this site as well as creating an account and uploading manuscripts are available on the "Instructions to Authors" page on the MOR website.

Organization Science Editorial Review
Organization Science has evolved to become one of the premier international journals in management and organization theory. The President of INFORMS has appointed a committee to conduct a strategic review to understand the state of the journal, to identify new issues, new challenges, and new ideas, and to listen to the journal's customers.
