In Memoriam, William W. Cooper, 97
The INFORMS Board, administration and membership extend condolences to the family of William W. Cooper, who passed away this week at age 97. The first president of The Institute of Management Sciences (TIMS), one of the predecessor societies to INFORMS; a founder of the management science field and, together with former TIMS President Abe Charnes the winner of the John von Neumann Theory Prize, Prof. Cooper was a seminal figure in the world of management sciences for more than 70 years. We mourn his passing.
