Please find some useful information for all participants, and for speakers in particular.
General information:

The conference starts on Wednesday July 6 at 9.00 am. The welcoming address and the first plenary session is held in room F1. The KTH campus is easily accessible by public transportation (bus or metro). For directions to the KTH campus (near the metro station “Tekniska Högskolan”) and to the conference rooms, please consult the webpage:

Registration opens on Wednesday, July 6, at 07.30. Registration takes place in the E-building. Registration is open every day from 07:30 to 17:00. To find the registration, see the campus map:

Coffee and Lunches:
- Coffee will be served near the seminar rooms each day in the Morning Break and Afternoon Break.
- Lunch will be served at the restaurant Syster & Bror, which is located on campus only a few minutes from the conference site. The lunch is included in the registration fee. Your conference badge is your lunch ticket. Please wear it at all times. Lunch is served during the time period 11.30 - 14.00 each day. To avoid line-ups, please try to use the entire opening time span.

Reception:
- On Wednesday evening (July 6) at 18.00-19.30, there will be a welcoming reception at the KTH library, which is located next to the conference site.
Conference Buffet Dinner at the Vasa museum:
- The Vasa Museum, located on the island of Djurgården, is the most visited museum in Scandinavia. The museum displays the magnificent 17th century shipwreck Vasa itself and all the objects found with it. On Thursday July 7, please arrive at the Vasa Museum for a drink at 19.00. Two buses will leave KTH at 18.30. As an alternative it takes about 30 minutes to walk from the Central Station and 15 minutes from the subway Karlaplan. At 19.30 there will a guided tour, where each guide will bring a group of 35-40 guests on a 25 minute tour around the ship and the collections. Around 20.00 the guides will bring all guests to level 4 of the museum where a buffet dinner is served. Buses will be provided at 22.30 for the return trip with stops at the most frequented hotels and some other locations in central Stockholm. The conference dinner and entry to the Vasa museum are included in the registration fee. There will be a cash bar for purchase of additional beverages.

Here is some background information on the Vasa ship:
“The Swedish King Gustav II Adolf built the big warship Vasa in 1628, one of the most powerful warships in the world at that time. The ship sank on her maiden voyage in the middle of Stockholm harbour after sailing barely 1300 meters. In 1961 Vasa breaks the surface again after 333 years. The ship is in surprisingly good condition and can be seen at the Vasa museum.”

The Applied Probability Society Business Meeting:
- The Business meeting of the APS will take place on Wednesday, July 6, at 18:15 in room F1 (same room as plenary sessions).
Computers:
- Wireless network access is available on the KTH Campus Area through Eduroam(www.eduroam.org).
- As an alternative you may get wireless access through the KTH-Conference Network. Login details are provided in the material you receive at the Registration Desk.
- There will be open rooms at the conference site where you can work and email using your personal laptop.
- There will unfortunately not be computer rooms with public computers. If you need computer and internet access during the conference you are advised to bring your own laptop.
Speakers:
- All speakers (contributed and invited) must register for the conference.
- If you have not registered for the conference, please do so a.s.a.p. at the conference webpage: http://meetings.informs.org/APS2011
- There will be three talks in each 90 min session. Please prepare for a 25 min presentation to leave some time for questions.
Seminar room equipment:
- Each seminar room is equipped with a laptop and projector as well as standard blackboards.
- Each room has a dedicated Host throughout the conference.
- All speakers are kindly asked to contact the Host in a suitable break or at a suitable time before the session.
- Please bring presentation files on a memory stick (USB) to the Host, who will make sure all presentations are stored on the same laptop provided by the conference in advance of each session.
- You may also email your presentation to us prior to the conference. Please email your presentation to Johan Nykvist jnykvist@kth.se no later than July 4. Please include your name and the session number (e.g. Session 3.11) in your email.
- The computers support pdf and powerpoint presentations. Please do not use postscript (.ps) presentations.
- If you would like to use a traditional overhead projector to show transparencies; please notify Johan Nykvist <jnykvist@kth.se> before the start of the conference.
