Overview
On January 26, 2012 Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced that the Department of Defense budget cuts needed to reach $487 billion over the next ten years. He also stated that the plan entails risk, but that U.S. forces will remain capable of beating “any adversary, anytime, anywhere.”This conference will address topics of interest in Operations Research’s role in making Secretary Panetta’s statements reality.

Keynote Speaker: Captain (Retired) Wayne Hughes
INFORMS MAS is excited to announce that the Keynote Speaker for this year's conference is Captain (Retired) Wayne Hughes. He has served as the MORS president, a fellow and a winner of MORS’ highest honor, the Vance R. Wanner Award for significant contributions to national security. Currently he is inspiring and challenging young analysts through teaching and mentoring at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA.
