MORS/MAS Joint Student Member Info

If you are a current Student Member of MAS we are excited to announce to you a new joint venture between the Military Operations Research Society (MORS) and the Military Applications Society (MAS) of INFORMS. The two societies will now offer dual membership to their student members, and as of 1 May 2012 you are now a student member of both MORS and INFORMS MAS. As a current student member you have been grandfathered in to this new joint status. You will soon receive a User Name and Password credentials for the MORS website.

As a student member of each respective society you will continue to receive the same great benefits you have come to expect. Plus, one of the new benefits of student membership will be the Joint Student Webinars. These webinars will cover areas of interest to students including:

     - Operations Research Job Opportunities
     - A typical day in the life of an OR Analyst
     - Internship opportunities
     - Opportunities to brief your research

BZ to Dr. William Pulleyblank, Professor of Operations Research, Department of Mathematical Sciences, USMA, for being inducted as a member of the National Academy of Engineering

The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) is the portal for all engineering activities at the National Academies, which along with the NAE include the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council. Founded in 1964, the NAE provides engineering leadership in service to the nation. The NAE has more than 2,000 peer-elected members and foreign associates, senior professionals in business, academia, and government who are among the world's most accomplished engineers. They provide the leadership and expertise for numerous projects focused on the relationships between engineering, technology, and the quality of life. The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) mission is to promote the technological welfare of the nation by marshaling the knowledge and insights of eminent members of the engineering profession.
