New MAS award

MAS announces the creation of a new award to recognize the commitment of a select group of seniors of the major U.S. service academies who will successfully obtain an undergraduate major in one or more of the OR/MS related fields of Operations Research, Operations Management, Systems Engineering, Systems Management, or Engineering Management. The award consists of a one-year student membership in MAS, intended as a means of beginning their engagement with INFORMS as the preeminent OR/MS society in the world.

MAS recognizes value in awarding student memberships to this group as a very high number of them will serve in DoD analytical organizations, participate in quantitative and qualitative operational and logistic support, participate in graduate education, or depart active duty to continue to serve national security interests. MAS intends to expand this program to encompass a broader reach across the international landscape over the next couple of years, keeping with the goals of the society.
