The 2008 INFORMS National Meeting will be held on October 12-15, athe Marriott Wardman Park and Omni Shoreham hotels in Washington, DC. The theme of the meeting is "OR Goes to Washington", and will focus on the application of operations research to public policy and the public sector - the focus of PPPS.

PPPS plans to support the theme of the 2008 national meeting by sponsoring a major presentations track. Past sessions sponsored by PPPS have focused on homeland security, law enforcement, emergency preparedness, disaster response, and improving the perormance of government operations. More broadly, PPPS has sponsored sessions describing broad challenges to the OR community from the public sector, and providing commentary on various aspects of performing OR in the public sector.

We encourage all members of INFORMS to submit presentation abstracts related to public policy and the public sector.
