Overview
Greetings, Rocky Mountain INFORMS members! Welcome to the start of another productive year of networking and learning in our valued profession of Operations Research and Management Science. We will continue with our schedule of meetings the third Wednesday or Thursday of every other month, September through May, starting with networking at 5:30 p.m., a presentation at 6 p.m., and optional dinner at a local restaurant after the presentation (attendees pay for their own dinner).

INFORMS 2012 MOVING SPIRIT AWARD - Stefan Karisch
As chairman of the organizing committee, Stefan was the prime mover in re-launching the Rocky Mountain chapter in 2009. Stefan was able to overcome the inertia of a long dormant organization and infuse it with enthusiasm and purpose. To accomplish this, he first assembled a team of local volunteers. Then, through careful planning, phone conferences, and coordination he launched our first and subsequent highly successful chapter meetings. Stefan served as unofficial President until our first elections were held the following spring, for which he ensured that all positions had at least one candidate. Stefan then gracefully “retired” to his role as “Past President” and now, chapter member. The Rocky Mountain INFORMS chapter recognizes his initiative and hard work throughout.
