Title: Lead Operational Researcher – Revenue Management

 

This is a rare opportunity to develop and implement a new revenue management system for this well-known UK Company. The position will involve creating a demand forecasting tool and, eventually, a price and space optimiser. Candidates will need to be an expert in forecast and optimisation modelling and extremely comfortable with advanced mathematical and statistical concepts.

 

Key Duties:

  • Forecast methodology development
  • Optimisation process flow mapping
  • Optimisation algorithm development
  • Data analysis across multiple complex data sets
  • Statistical testing and scoring
  • Creation of segmentation groupings
  • Business requirement gathering
  • Methodology documentation

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience of self-developing forecasting techniques (Time Series, ARIMA, Bayesian etc) and able to document and hand-over to others for business deployment
  • Experience of optimisation methodologies and the ability to create complex algorithms that work in a business environment
  • Extensive business experience in optimisation development and business deployment in a commercial project led environment
  • Proven experience in the usage of statistical methodologies (significance testing, regression, multivariate analysis, discriminant analysis etc.)
  • Exposure to pricing and revenue management functions ideally within the travel or hospitality industry
  • Ability to summarise and present complex findings to a non-technical organisation
  • Ability to work without close supervision, self-starter essential
  • Comfortable delegating and motivating analyst staff
  • Post-graduate degree in Operational Research
  • High calibre user of statistical and optimisation tools (SPSS, SAS, R, Matlab, Minitab etc.)

Package:

 

Remuneration will include a basic salary to £65,000 (UK pounds), 15% bonus and 25 days annual holiday (in addition to statutory bank holidays). The position will be located at Chertsey, Surrey, just off junction 11 on the M25.

 

The position represents an outstanding opportunity for an Operational Researcher with some 5 to 6 years of successful RM project implementations, to shape the development of a new revenue management system for this well known, Stock Exchange listed, UK Company.
