JOB TITLE: Revenue Management System Analyst

MANAGER’S TITLE: Director, Pricing Strategy & Analytics

DEPARTMENT: Revenue Management

BASIC PURPOSE:The Revenue Management System Analyst will be part of Norwegian’s Revenue Management team supporting Norwegian’s revenue management system (PROS). The position is crucial to high satisfaction and adoption of PROS among the end-users.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Internal Consulting: Engage end-users on an ongoing basis to ensure high satisfaction and adoption of PROS. Understand underlying end-users’ issues beyond the reported incidents and relate them to the realm of PROS features, cruise industry business, revenue management principles, and Norwegian’s business practices. Conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable and high-value solutions to the reported incidents with a combination of data analytics, business acumen, technical expertise, PROS features, and sound judgment. Conduct training on best practices on an ongoing basis. Distill complex topics and communicate in a simple and coherent manner with a consultative approachSystem Calibration: Support and Upgrades: Work with the vendor and Information Technology team on the following tasks: Analyze, recommend, and maintain system configuration congruent to business needs on an ongoing basis. Monitor, troubleshoot, and fix daily batches. Manage PROS upgrades approximately two times a year - requirements gathering and communication, quality assurance, and change control. Maintain Norwegian’s internally -developed user interface to PROS using SQL, Microsoft Access, Excel, VBA, macros, and PL/SQLAnalytics and Reporting: Conceive, develop, and analyze pricing analytics and related reporting for providing actionable insights into business trends and making recommendations to the upper management and end-users

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a quantitative discipline, Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Master’s preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: Preferred 2-5 years of experience working with analytical systems and data analysis. Experience with travel/cruise industry and/or revenue management is preferred but not required.
  • KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: High motivation to learn and ability to grasp new concepts quickly. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, end-user focus, and collaborative skills. Excellent working knowledge of SQL (Oracle), Microsoft Access, and advanced Excel with ability to write macros in VBA. Intermediate knowledge of PL/SQL. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure, work with limited direction and documentation, and thrive with uncertainty – “make things happen.” Familiarity with travel/cruise industry and reservation/revenue management systems is preferred but not required.
