We certainly have an eclectic and strongly international group of 2010 Edelman finalists. Congratulations to INFORMS, the selection committee who chose six finlaists from 24 entrants, and of course to the finalists. I've always felt like having a strong contingent of international finalists is good for INFORMS as an organization. After all, we are the world's largest O.R. society and should be the leader in recognizing oustanding achievement in practice from companies all over the world.

2010 Edelman Finalists and their projects are:

Delaware River Basin Commission (U.S.) -- "Breaking the Deadlock: Improving Water Release Policies on the Delaware River Through O.R."

Deutsche Post DHL (Germany)-- "Managing Global Brand Investments at DHL"

Indeval (Mexico) -- "Mexican Financial Markets Benefit from Novel Application of Operations Research"

New Brunswick Canada Dept. of Transportation -- "Taking the Politics out of Paving: Achieving Transportation Asset Management Excellence via Operations Research"

Proctor & Gamble (U.S.) -- "Inventory Optimization at Proctor & Gamble: Achieving Real Benefits Through User Adoption of Inventory Tools"

Sasol (South Africa) -- "Innovative Decision Support in a Petrochemical Production Environment"

See you at the Practice Meeting, April 18-20 in Orlando, Florida, for the presentations and the announcement of the winner at the Edelman Gala!
