Topics
An Operations Research Application to the Design of Mechanized Material Handling Conveyor System
A case study discussion of a large simulation model and a network optimization model to aid the reconstruction efforts after a disastrous fire at Tinker Air Force Base. The new design decreased material handling by fifty percent and saved $1.8 million annually from higher direct labor efficiency. 1988 finalist, Edelman Award for Management Science Achievement. (Elementary or Intermediate)
Operations Research Models in Cardiovascular Disease Control
A case study involving the planning and implementation of a comprehensive health maintenance program to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease in the U.S. Air Force. (Elementary or Intermediate)
Multiple Objective Optimization and Goal Programming
Survey of development and applications of theory and methods pertinent to decision making under multiple criteria. Goal programming and interactive methods for multi-criteria optimization problems and their applications will be discussed. (Intermediate or Advanced)
Introduction to Supply Chain Management
An overview of concepts and solution methods important in the design, control, operation and management of supply chains. (Elementary)
Managing Risks in Supply Chains
Supply chain management is no longer moving products efficiently but also mitigating risks along the way. Presentation will include how to identify, classify and prioritize different types of supply chain risks and develop strategies for managing and mitigating risks. (Intermediate)
