Opportunities for Research Funding in Operations Research / Management Sciences

The objective of this page is to provide a brief overview of various opportunities for funded research in OR / MS, along with pointers to federal and other agencies which maintain web pages or electronic databases for such information. Part of the page points to general information describing existing programs; this information is more or less static. The other part of the page provides information relating to specific opportunities that arise periodically; such information is added and updated as and when it is received.

While every attempt is made to be as comprehensive as possible, this page is not meant to be exhaustive. It is provided as a service and you should follow the links to the original source to ensure that you get complete and accurate information. The emphasis is on pointing people in the direction of funding information as opposed to providing complete details of the information itself.

Finally, if you are at a funding agency and would like to add to the material provided here, or correct any of the existing information, please send a detailed e-mail message to the Associate Editor, Funding or the Editor, INFORMS Online.

Overview of Opportunities at Various Funding Sources

NOTE:  There are more than 50 professional organizations pertinent to OR/MS. Our Guide to OR/MS Societies provides pointers to their Web sites.  More than 10 of these have information related to sources for research funding and/or scholarships; to find such information, search the Guide for the string "Funding" and then click on the appropriate link.

Your e-mail address is your login. If help is needed, contact NSF's Information Center at info@nsf.gov or call 703-306-1234. To set up your profile, visit the NSF home page at http://www.nsf.gov and click on the Custom News Service button on the toolbar at the bottom of the home page, or go directly to the service at the URL given above. You will be prompted to provide your e-mail address and given a series of options, from which to choose.
