Texas A&M University Student Chapter
About the Community
The Texas A&M University Student Chapter is active.
Joining the chapter is a great way to learn about OR/MS and also create a network between colleagues and friends. We provide academic related events for students to have an exposure in OR/MS topics, both theories and real world applications, from our graduate student seminars, technical workshops, invited industry seminars, and field trips. For no-academic activities, we organize various social events (weekly coffee/cookie hour, sport events, farewell for graduating students, and etc.) to facilitate the interaction among professors, students, and staffs.
Description: The student of the INFORMS at Texas A&M University encourages the interest in the field of Operations Research (OR) and Management Sciences (MS) by providing opportunities for people having interest in OR/MS to communicate, interact, and share information about any topics in the area of OR/MS.
Awards: Appreciation awards to one faculty, one former student officer, and one department staff given every year.
Benefits: Academic and social events, career opportunities.
Meetings: Weekly coffee and cookie hours for members. The officers meet twice a month. Events are organized at least twice a month.
