University of South Florida Student Chapter

The University of South Florida Student Chapter is active.

The chapter is primarily composed of Industrial Engineering graduate students. Our objectives are: to encourage integration of IE students at USF with the rest of the OR/MS community, to promote and advance the application of IE and OR techniques to real life challenges, to encourage interaction between faculty and students at our department, and to advance interaction between IE and OR with other research disciplines.

Benefits: We organize the INFORMS-IMSE Department Lecture Series in which speakers from other universities are invited to present their research. We hold regular social activities, fundraising events and participate in community service activities. We also volunteer in mentoring and tutoring elementary school students from inner city, under-represented, low income families in an after school program.
