Armann Ingolfsson
Armann Ingolfsson is an Associate Professor of Operations Management and Academic Director of the Centre for Excellence in Operations at the University of Alberta School of Business, Edmonton, Canada. He received a Ph.D. in operations research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1994. He has taught courses in operations management, quantitative modeling, and statistics to undergraduate, MBA, and PhD students and has received awards for teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
A former VP-Publications of the INFORMS Education Forum and editor of OR/MS Today's "Issues in Education" column, he is a Senior Editor of INFORMS Transactions on Education. He has given presentations at international conferences on various topics related to the teaching of management science.
His research interests focus on operations management in the service and health care sectors and developing methodology to analyze congested systems. He has published articles on these topics in Management Science, Operations Research, Production and Operations Management, and various other journals.
He is a past President of the Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS) and has served in various other roles for CORS.
His research interests focus on operations management in the service sector, including workforce management and emergency service operations.
