Cliff Ragsdale
Cliff T. Ragsdale is the Bank of America Professor in the Department of Business Information Technology at Virginia Tech. He received his Ph.D. in Management Science and Information Technology from the University of Georgia. He also holds an M.B.A. in Finance and B.A. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.
He is a leading innovator in management science education and author of the textbook Spreadsheet Modeling and Decision Analysis published by South-Western. Dr. Ragsdale's primary areas of research interest center of the integration of computers, neural networks, genetic algorithms, mathematical programming, and statistics to solve business problems. He has published more than 30 research articles in journals such as Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, Naval Research Logistics, OMEGA: The International Journal of Management Science, INFORMS Transactions on Education, Computers & Operations Research, Operations Research Letters, Personal Financial Planning, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and other publications. He also serves on the Editorial Advisory Boards of Computers and Operations Research and the International Journal of Information Technology & Decision Making.
Dr. Ragsdale is an active member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and the Association for Information Systems (AIS). Dr. Ragsdale has also served as a consultant to various organizations including: The World Bank, Dominion Energy, Advance Auto Parts, Deloitte & Touche, Pella Windows, Best Western Hotels, and Conseco.
