Annual Domain Service Award Application Process

All members of the Behavioral Process Management Section (BPM) are eligible for nomination. Members can be nominated by any BPM member. Each member can nominate at most one member. Nominations must be received at least one month before the annual INFORMS conference.

Nominations should explain why the nominee is deserving of the Domain Service Award (i.e. because of exceptional service to the community of Behavioral Operations researchers, not in terms of pure research, but rather in terms of community development activities aimed at increasing networking opportunities and visibility both within the community as well as across other groups.) The nomination letter should not exceed two pages in length, and should be submitted to the section's secretary prior to the deadline. The letter should be in a suitable electronic form, preferably in PDF.

The section chair will recruit 5 judges. These judges should be a reasonably representative sample of the BPM Section, and include both junior and senior faculty. Judges will select their top three nominations and will form their opinion by selecting those members that contributed most to the institutional development and visibility of the section, or other organizational structures related to the section. Scoring: A ranking of "top service contributor" earns 3 points, second place earns 2 points, and third place earns a nominated individual 1 point. In the end, the nominee scoring the most points wins the award. The winner will be announced by the section chair during the section meeting at the INFORMS annual conference.
