Student Travel Award Application Process
Students who (1) did not complete their Ph.D. prior to May 1, 2009 and (2) will be presenting a talk at the 2010 INFORMS Annual Meeting held in Austin, TX, are eligible for this year's competition. If you wish to submit an abstract for this year's meeting, please contact Robert Haight at rhaight@fs.fed.us for papers related to forestry, Vishnu Naduri at vnanduri@uwm.edu for papers related to energy, or Alexandra Newman at anewman@mines.edu for papers related to mining.
All students doing work in or related to energy, environmental or natural resource issues (including theory development, optimization, econometrics, simulation and another other quantitative methodology) are encouraged to submit a paper. The work must be predominately that of the student, though faculty members or other mentors can be co-authors if appropriate. The paper should be 30 pages or less (double spaced and 12 point font) and in the standard format of INFORMS' flagship journals, Management Science and Operations Research. Students do not need to be ENRE members to be eligible for the competition, however membership is encouraged.
To be considered for this year's competition, please submit an electronic version in MS Word or PDF format via e-mail to the prize chair by July 1, 2010. The prize is awarded at the ENRE business meeting at the INFORMS National Meeting.
