John D. C. Little Award -- Application Process

This award is given annually to the best marketing paper published in Marketing Science or Management Science. Eligible papers are:

  • all papers published in Marketing Science in 2007;
  • all papers published in Management Science in 2007 that were handled by the Department Editor for Marketing or that use "marketing" as a key word; or
  • any paper published in Management Science during the award year and nominated by its authors.

Authors of papers in the first two categories above do not need to nominate their papers; it will be done automatically. Any other 2007 paper from an INFORMS journal can be included in the balloting if the author communicates this desire to the Secretary of the INFORMS Marketing Science Society before midnight CST March 1, 2008 (see address below). The nomination must be sent electronically and include the complete bibliographic citation in a format that can be copied into Word. To be consistent with the award protocol, nominations for the 2007 award cannot be accepted after March 1, 2008.

The winner of the Little Award will be announced in June 2008 at the Marketing Science Conference, on the INFORMS Society for Marketing website, and in the newsletter.
