Ruiwei Jiang of the University of Florida won the 2013 George E. Nicholson Student Paper Competition for his paper, “Data-driven Chance Constrained Stochastic Program.”
Committee Co-Chairs Huseyin Topaloglu and Jose Blanchet announced the winner at the INFORMS Annual Meeting Minneapolis.

The competition is held each year to honor of outstanding papers in the field of operations research and the management sciences written by a student.

Finalists included Ian Post (University of Waterloo), Gustavo Angula (Georgia Institute of Technology), Yonatan Gur (Columbia University), Chang-Han Rhee (Stanford University), Hyung-Chan An (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), Vishal Gupta and Nathan Kallus (MIT) and Utku Ozan Candogan (MIT).
