On to 2014!

We are looking forward to 2014 with great enthusiasm. We will bring continued progress on several strategic fronts. Along with certification and continuing education, we will increase the value of your membership with other products and services that enhance networking, collaboration and exchange of ideas and information.

We will further our mission to empower organizational data-based decision-making. Through our reinvigorated outreach program, we will work to help ingrain O.R. and analytical thinking and decision-making in all facets of industry, government and analyst organizations. We will take steps to ensure that INFORMS has up-to-date online systems to enable and encourage access, collaboration and effective exchange of information including the introduction of community-based private networks and an upgraded journals platform. And, we will launch an analytics maturity model online tool that will help organizations take stock of their analytics capability, set goals for improvement and make those improvements with INFORMS’ help.

We have three exciting and attractive meeting locations. The Analytics Conference will be held in the charming, historic city of Boston in April; a brand new INFORMS offering – Conference on Big Data – is set for San Jose, Calif., in June; and the 2014 Annual Meeting leaves its heart in captivating San Francisco in November. Our journals continue to publish the very best of O.R. scholarship, including coverage of the service sector with our newest journal, Service Science. Work begins in earnest in 2014 on our 14th journal – Strategy Science – set to debut in 2015. Our growing awards program continues to identify and reward meritorious achievement in all aspects of our field, and a renewed emphasis will be placed on programs that encourage and enable academic involvement in analytics.

Your membership dues support all of these activities, plus much more. Please don’t delay—renew your INFORMS membership today.
