Justin Boutilier, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto, received the 2017 Seth Bonder Scholarship for Applied Operations Research in Health Services.

The purpose of the scholarship is to promote the development and application of process modeling and operations research analyses to healthcare design, delivery and operations. The scholarship provides funding to support the development of highly qualified individuals and promote the interchange of health services research knowledge in conjunction with INFORMS.

The scholarship consists of a grant of $4,000 that is intended to provide financial support for a promising new researcher. In addition, the award winner will be eligible for up to $1,000 of travel funding. An additional $2,000 grant is provided and funded by the Seth Bonder Foundation.

Dr. Seth Bonder was the founder and CEO of Vector Research, Incorporated (VRI) for 31 years, a company recognized for its quality and innovations in applying OR/MS to public and private sector enterprises.
