Visualizing Problems, Models and Solutions

Presented by David B. Hoffman, University of Alaska Anchorage

An important part of solving complex problems
is creating visuals that precisely represent the
problem, the resulting models and the solutions.
How do you create these and what criteria
should guide making effective visuals? This is
an iterative process. Good visuals can
only be derived from the owners of the real
process. The results provide the focus on all
that needs to be done and what is ultimately
expected. This talk includes a number of examples
that were used to make sure everyone understood
the problem and what needed to be done to obtain a
good solution.
