INFORMS, the leading international association for operations research and analytics professionals, announced it has awarded Intel its 2020 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Advanced Analytics, Operations Research, and Management Science for its use of operations research (O.R.) to maximize revenue and minimize cost in corporate decision-making.

INFORMS, the largest international association of operations research (O.R.) and analytics professionals and students, has officially named 12 outstanding members as Fellows, one of the highest honors in the O.R. profession. The 2020 INFORMS Fellows will be inducted during the Virtual 2020 INFORMS Annual Meeting, November 7–13. INFORMS Fellows are honored for their outstanding lifetime accomplishments and contributions in operations research and analytics. 

INFORMS, the leading international association for professionals in operations research (O.R.) and analytics, announced that the 2020 INFORMS Franz Edelman Award competition has been rescheduled to September 29, 2020 and will take place virtually. The competition was previously scheduled for April 2020 but was delayed due to COVID-19. Additional information about the virtual Edelman Competition will be announced at a later date and will be open for public viewing. 

INFORMS, the leading international association for operations research (O.R.) and analytics professionals, has awarded UPS with the 2020 INFORMS Prize for sustained and enduring institutional achievement. UPS is the first company in the history of the prize to win twice; it previously won this prize in 2003. 

INFORMS, the leading international association for professionals in operations research and analytics, has awarded the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada the 2020 UPS George D. Smith Prize. The award recognizes excellence in preparing students to become practitioners of operations research and analytics.

For the past four years, the annual INFORMS O.R. & Analytics Student Team Competition has featured a robust competition among global teams of students vying to solve real-world problems described in a problem set by that year’s competition sponsor. 

Six student teams from around the world are selected as finalists in the fourth annual INFORMS O.R. & Analytics Student Team Competition. The competition highlights impressive young talent and provides operations research (O.R.) and analytics students with the opportunity to solve the kind of real-world workplace challenges they will undoubtedly face during their careers. 

INFORMS, the leading international association for professionals in operations research and analytics, has selected three finalists for the 2020 UPS George D. Smith Prize, which recognizes excellence in preparing students to become practitioners of operations research and analytics.

INFORMS, the leading international association for professionals in operations research and analytics, has selected six finalists for the 49th annual Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Advanced Analytics, Operations Research and Management Science, the world’s most prestigious award for achievement in the practice of analytics and operations research (O.R.). 

INFORMS, the leading association for operations research (O.R.) and analytics professionals, has awarded the 2019 Daniel H. Wagner  Prize for Excellence in the Practice of Advanced Analytics and Operations Research to researchers from DiDi Research America and Didi Chuxing Technology Co. for their work to increase efficiency in the ride-hailing marketplace.
