INFORMS, the largest international association of operations research (O.R.) and analytics professionals and students, has officially named 12 outstanding members as Fellows, one of the highest honors in the O.R. profession. The 2019 INFORMS Fellows will be inducted in Seattle, Washington, October 20–23, during the INFORMS Annual Meeting. INFORMS Fellows are honored for their outstanding lifetime accomplishments and contributions in operations research and analytics. 

INFORMS, the leading international association for operations research and analytics professionals, announced it has awarded Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District and Tetra Tech its 2019 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Advanced Analytics, Operations Research, and Management Science for its use of operations research (O.R.) to maximize all aspects of its wastewater collection and treatment facilities to better protect the environment and realize hundreds of millions in savings.

INFORMS, the leading international association for operations research and analytics professionals, announced that Booz Allen Hamilton has been awarded the 2019 INFORMS Prize for their pioneering and enduring integration of operations research (O.R.) and analytics programs into their organization.

Lindner College of Business its 2019 UPS George D. Smith Prize for an innovative curriculum, taught in the context of a true business environment, that prepares students to become effective practitioners. 

CATONSVILLE, MD, March 7, 2019 – Six student teams from around the world have been selected as finalists in the third annual INFORMS O.R. & Analytics Student Team Competition. The competition highlights impressive young talent and provides O.R. and analytics students the opportunity to solve the kinds of real-world workplace challenges they will face during their careers.

INFORMS, the leading international association for professionals in operations research and analytics, has selected six finalists for the 48th annual Franz Edelman Award for Achievements in Advanced Analytics, Operations Research and Management Science, the world’s most prestigious award for achievement in the practice of analytics and operations research (O.R.). 

INFORMS, the leading association for operations research (O.R.) and analytics professionals, has awarded the 2018 INFORMS Daniel H. Wagner Prize for Excellence in Practice of Advanced Analytics and Operations Research to researchers from Cornell University for their work to increase the efficiency of bike-sharing programs. The award was presented at the 2018 INFORMS Annual Meeting held in Phoenix, AZ on November 4-7.
