Event Details/Other Comments:

The 2002 Asia Conference on Efficiency and Productivity Growth will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 19-20, 2002, in Taipei, Taiwan. This is the third international conference on efficiency and productivity growth in the Asia-Pacific region organized and sponsored by the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica (IEAS).
The conference will consist of both invited and contributed paper sessions on efficiency and productivity growth. The Conference Organizing Committee prefers contributed papers addressing efficiency and productivity growth in the Asia-Pacific region, but other theoretical and empirical contributions are also welcome. Authors of papers presented at the conference are encouraged to submit to the conference volume to be edited by IEAS and published by Edward Elgar Publishing Limited. The last two conferences spawned two volumes in the Academia Studies in Asian Economies (Fu, Huang and Lovell, 1999, 2002) published by Edward Elgar.
Those wishing to contribute a paper are invited to submit a one-page abstract as soon as possible but not later than February 28, 2002, to the conference coordinator, Dr. Tsu-tan Fu. The conference program will consist of 50 to 60 presentations selected from the submitted abstracts. Completed manuscripts for those accepted are due by May 20, 2002. Limited financial support may be available for paper contributors. Those applying for financial aid must submit their completed manuscripts by April 20, 2002.
