Event Details/Other Comments:

Held under the auspices of the International Centre for
Mathematical Sciences (ICMS), and incorporating the twelfth
Scottish Computational Mathematics Symposium (SCMS). The
first day of the meeting will follow the usual SCMS format,
and the second and third days will involve a mixture of
invited and contributed talks.
Organisers:
Penny Davies (Strathclyde: [email protected]),
Dugald Duncan (Heriot-Watt: [email protected]),
Dave Sloan (Strathclyde: [email protected]).
Steering Committee:
Joe Barbenel (Strathclyde), Sir Alfred Cuschieri (Dundee),
Nick Hill (Glasgow), Oliver Jensen (Nottingham),
Chris Johnson (Utah), Jonathan Sherratt (Heriot-Watt).
Conference themes:
Mathematical modelling and numerical simulation play a
major role in many important medical applications.
The meeting will be organised around the two interlinked
themes of THE VASCULAR AND PULMONARY SYSTEMS and SOFT TISSUE
MECHANICS. The purpose is to bring together people who work
on mathematical modelling, numerical analysis, simulation
and direct medical applications related to these areas,
and to act as a focus to stimulate further research and the
development of even more realistic medical simulations.
