Event Details/Other Comments:

Flow considerations have considerably advanced for ground transportation
applications: large dedicated wind tunnels, novel measurement techniques, and a significant refinement of simulation models.
This progress has particularly highlighted the power of numerical and experimental simulation techniques, often combined, in the various phases of development, research, preliminary design and product/process development. It has simply become an indispensable tool to better master risks in automotive innovation.
In this context, the SIA Subcommittees on Simulation and Quality & Reliability are organizing in October 2005 a 2-day international congress on Fluid Dynamics Applications for Ground Transportation.
Conference topics:
1- External Aerodynamics
2- Aerothermodynamics
3- Aeroacoustics
4- Injection Systems
5- Engine Aerodynamics and Combustion
6- Exhaust Gas and Aftertreatment
7- Multiphase flows
Particular stress will be given on the following axes:
Characterization of the problem and model planning,
Simulation strategy with cost-effectiveness in mind,
Integration of simulation in the development process,
Solution robustness in relation to manufacturing demands,
Technical innovations (algorithms, materials) and new applications.
