Event Details/Other Comments:

Telecommunications and wireless networks are among the areas with greater
potential for new applications of combinatorial optimization techniques.
Consequently, new techniques from optimization and engineering have being
influenced by the fast pace of innovation in the telecommunications field in
the last decades.
For the second year, we will have a special session devoted to new applications
of optimization to telecommunications in the SCI conference. Our objective is
to contribute for integration of theory and practice in the field and bring
together researchers in diverse applications of telecommunications. Sample
topics of interest are:
Wireless networks
Analysis of communication protocols
Algorithms for cellular communication systems
Algorithms for power control
Network design
Congestion control
Multicast networks
New mathematical models for telecommunication problems
