Costco shoppers should prepare for disruption after unionized warehouse employees affiliated with the Teamsters voted to authorize a strike. Costco has until January 31 to make a deal with the union, otherwise the strike will go into effect on February 1. "Our members have spoken loud and clear: Costco must deliver a fair contract, or they'll be held accountable," Teamsters General President Sean M. O'Brien said in a press release. "From day one, we've told Costco that our members won't work a day past January 31 without a historic, industry-leading agreement."

Four years after President Donald Trump’s initial unsuccessful attempt to ban TikTok on national security grounds, Congress succeeded in passing bipartisan legislation to force the app's removal, which former President Joe Bidensigned into law. The ban, requiring mobile app stores, cloud hosts, and internet service providers to drop TikTok, was upheld by the Supreme Court on Friday despite challenges from TikTok, content creators, and free speech advocates who argued it violated the First Amendment.

Earlier this month, two bodies were found in the wheel well of a JetBlue airplane that departed from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport en route to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The bodies had already begun to decompose, suggesting that the people had died some time before they were discovered. The National Transportation Safety Board did not view this as a safety issue involving flight crew or operations, and so it did not initiate any further investigation.
