From healthcare to data science, 2025 Fellows boast outstanding contributions to practice, research and education in service to the O.R. profession and INFORMS community
BALTIMORE, Sept. 30, 2025 – INFORMS, the world’s largest association for professionals and students in operations research (O.R.), AI, analytics and data science, has named 12 distinguished leaders as 2025 INFORMS Fellows, one of the highest professional honors in operations research, analytics and AI.
Collectively, this year’s Fellows represent trailblazing contributions in academia and industry and have advanced breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, supply chain resilience, clean energy, healthcare delivery and transportation systems, while also shaping the next generation of talent and serving as trusted advisors to organizations worldwide.
“Our 2025 Fellows embody the highest level of achievement in operations research and analytics,” said Elena Gerstmann, executive director of INFORMS. “Through their pioneering research, leadership, and service, they have strengthened our profession and demonstrated the transformative power of data-driven decision making. We are honored to celebrate their extraordinary contributions.”
2025 Fellows
- Laura Albert, Professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is being recognized for outstanding service to the profession, significant research on the use of operations research for social good and outreach to the public.
- Chun-Hung Chen, Professor of Systems Engineering and Operations Research at George Mason University, is being recognized for his fundamental contributions to simulation optimization and stochastic sampling methodology; contributions to O.R. practice in manufacturing, healthcare, air transportation and defense systems and sustained service to the profession.
- John W. Chinneck is a Distinguished Research Professor of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University. He is being recognized for algorithmic contributions to the field of optimization by providing essential computational tools to diagnose and resolve infeasible models, and for sustained service to the O.R. community.
- Gérard P. Cornuéjols is the IBM University Professor Emeritus of Operations Research at the School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. He is being recognized for his fundamental research in integer programming and combinatorial optimization leading to advances in the theory and practice of the field.
- Pooja Dewan is the CDO of Rentokil-Terminix. She is being recognized for her leadership in pioneering O.R. and AI/ML applications in the railway and manufacturing industries, and dedicated service to the INFORMS community connecting practice, research and education.
- Yu Ding is the Anderson-Interface Chair and Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. He is being recognized for contributions to data and quality science, its impact on wind energy and manufacturing and service to INFORMS communities.
- Vivek F. Farias is the Patrick J. McGovern Professor of Operations Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is being recognized for his algorithmic contributions to dynamic optimization with sustained impact on practice.
- Stefan E. Karisch is the Director of Air Science & Technology at Amazon and is being recognized for his work improving the practice of optimization-based aircraft operations planning and scheduling, effective management of O.R. groups in aviation and service to the O.R. and advanced analytics professions.
- Erica Klampfl is the Executive Director of Industrial System Analytics at the Ford Motor Company and is being recognized for her high-impact contributions through advanced analytics practice, research and leadership and a sustained track record of service to the field of analytics.
- Panos Kouvelis is the Emerson Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain, Operations and Technology and Director of The Boeing Center for Supply Chain Innovation at Washington University in St. Louis. He is being recognized for advancing the theories and practice of global supply chains, operations management and integrated operations and financing decision-making.
- Subramanian (Raghu) Raghavan is the Dean's Professor of Management Science & Operations Management at the University of Maryland and is being recognized for his impactful research applying operations research methods to network design and optimization, auction design, data mining and healthcare; excellence in teaching and sustained service to INFORMS and the profession.
- Daniele Vigo, Professor of Operations Research at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering of the Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, is being recognized for fundamental contributions to the solution of routing, logistics and packing problems; significant management and applications of operations research and sustained service to the international O.R. community.
