Healthcare Analytics a focus at INFORMS Annual Meeting in Philadelphia

Cerner’s Glaser on Intelligent Electronic Health Records; Dozens of Presentations on Improving Healthcare Using Analytics

PHILADELPHIA, PA, October 27, 2015 – How can electronic health records help doctors make better medical decisions? What new analytics tools will help physicians flag patients at risk of cancer? What do text analytics predict about an expectant mother’s labor?

These, and numerous other healthcare analytics issues, will be in the spotlight in Philadelphia November 1-4 during the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the leading professional association in analytics and operations research.

The INFORMS Annual Meeting, being held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, will bring together over 5,000 experts, academics, and students of analytics, operations research, and math modeling in a meeting that will span a wide range of current topics and issues.

John Glaser, Senior Vice President of Cerner, a global leader in healthcare technology, will deliver a keynote, Advent of the Intelligent Electronic Health Record, on Monday, November 2 at 3:10 PM in the Grand Ballroom B, Upper 200 Level. The intelligent EHR of the future will be characterized by sophisticated and flexible decision support, rules engines, process monitoring engines, intelligent displays of important patient data, access to knowledge resources, the ability to collect data from multiple care settings through a health information exchange, and tools that enable provider collaboration. He’ll probe the future of EHR in this address.
