INFORMS Education Resource Library helps students, businesses, and university faculty and administrators in decision-making about analytics education and talent

CATONSVILLE, MD, February 23, 2016 – Students searching for the right analytics graduate program, business people seeking to hire analytics talent, analytics professors developing syllabi, and deans developing analytics programs have all shared one common challenge – a lack of a unified and comprehensive way to find data sets and problems and research the rapid changes, offerings, and opportunities in analytics education. Until now.

INFORMS, the leading international association for professionals in analytics and operations research, has launched the INFORMS Analytics Program Database, a new website on Analytics Degree Programs – an easy-to-use comprehensive site geared to providing the key information needed to make better decisions about analytics education and talent opportunities.

“Over the past several years we have been working with university leaders and faculty to compile information and resources they, industry, and students need to develop their analytics degree programs, find talent and research partners, and discover programs that meet their interests and needs,” said INFORMS Executive Director Melissa Moore. “We have consolidated all this valuable information into one easily searchable and interactive site for use by all looking for information about analytics education.”

In particular, the database enables

  • Business leaders to identify graduates who are prospective employees. They can also use it to find the right university to collaborate with on research.
  • Students to research analytics programs based upon academic focus, location, tuition, and more.
  • Deans and program directors to compare programs, benchmark, find resources to start a program, ask questions of others, and access numerous other materials and information to help continually improve programs.
  • Faculty to access course information, syllabi, and case studies that help them develop engaging and high quality courses.

In addition, university programs that are not listed can add their information and submit sample syllabi and case studies by providing it to [email protected].
