New online multimedia library illustrates impact of analytics across the entire spectrum of healthcare

CATONSVILLE, MD, September 28, 2016 – From fighting disease and treating patients, to managing hospitals, driving insurance, and guiding virtually every aspect of the healthcare system, the use of analytics and operations research methods are dramatically altering the healthcare landscape.

To help those involved in these areas, INFORMS has launched a comprehensive, open-access multimedia library that curates a wide array of peer-reviewed scientific journal articles; media stories; podcasts and videos; and other information from experts in healthcare-related operations research and analytics.

INFORMS Editor’s Cut: Healthcare in the Age of Analytics explores wide ranging topics that include improving the quality of healthcare delivery, readmission prevention, streamlined scheduling procedures, the online healthcare community, electronic medical records (EMR) and physician productivity dynamics. This content is readily available to researchers, students, media, industry, and anyone else interested in learning more about the application of analytics and operations research to healthcare.

Eric Johnson, Dean of the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management, serves as the volume editor for INFORMS Editor’s Cut: Healthcare in the Age of Analytics, which is available at http://pubsonline.informs.org/editorscut/promohealth.
