University of Tennessee professor elected INFORMS Vice President of Membership and Professional Recognition

BALTIMORE, MD, October 17, 2023 – INFORMS, the largest association for decision and data sciences, announced Anahita Khojandi has been named the vice president of Membership and Professional Recognition at INFORMS. 

Khojandi is an associate professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Heath Endowed Faculty Fellow in Business & Engineering, and the director for the Reliability and Maintainability Engineering program at University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her research interests include decision-making under uncertainty and partial information, machine learning, and reinforcement learning, with applications to a wide range of high-impact societal problems in healthcare, precision genomics, manufacturing and nuclear engineering, among others.   Khojandi has been the recipient of INFORMS Volunteer Service Award, Harvey J. Greenberg Research Award from INFORMS Computing Society, and her doctoral dissertation was recognized with the George B. Dantzig Dissertation Award from INFORMS. Khojandi served as the president of INFORMS Junior Faculty Interest Group and chair of INFORMS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
