CAP-X Certification Requirements

The CAP-X exam requires an application and only those who meet the following eligibility requirements are permitted to pursue the highest level of the certification

Education & Experience

  • 2 years of analytics work experience with a MA/MS degree or higher
  • 4 years of analytics work experience with a BA/BS degree
  • 8 years of analytics work experience with any level of education

Soft Skills & Ethics

  • Demonstrate mastery of soft skills (e.g., communication, leadership, ethical judgment)
  • Pledge to uphold the CAP Code of Ethics

Steps to Achieve CAP-X

  1. Complete an application
  2. Submit employer confirmation of soft skills
  3. Pledge to adhere to ethics guidelines
  4. Pay the application fee
  5. Receive application approval
  6. Pay and schedule the exam within 12 months of eligibility
  7. Pass the CAP-X exam
  8. Recertify every 3 years
