Position Title: Website Coordinator (2)
Work Location: Virtual, via email and conference calls; in person at the INFORMS Annual Meeting (free registration and some travel reimbursement provided)
Impact: Keeps the publication up to date online
Responsibilities: Utilize eZ Publish in order to update specific information on the OR/MS Tomorrow website. Additionally, the Webmaster is required to create a PDF version of the previous newsletter issue
Qualifications: Current or recent student; a working knowledge of content management systems and HTML
Time Commitment: Approximately 4 hours a month, for a term of 2 years
Support and Supervision: INFORMS membership department staff
Position Title: Staff Editor (4)
Work Location: Virtual, via email and conference calls, in person at the INFORMS Annual Meeting (free registration and some travel reimbursement provided)
Impact: Acts as the voice of the OR/MS/Analytics student community
Responsibilities: Research, develop, and write stories relevant to students in OR/MS/Analytics. May also conduct interviews with INFORMS members and luminaries in the field
Qualifications: Current or recent student, knowledge of topics relevant to students in the field, and excellent writing skills
Time Commitment: Approximately 6 hours a month, for a term of 1-2 years
Support and Supervision: INFORMS membership department staff
Position Title: Editorial Board Member (3)
Work Location: Virtual, via email and conference calls; in person at the INFORMS Annual Meeting (free registration and some travel reimbursement provided)
Impact: Helps to improve the overall clarity of the publication’s message
Responsibilities: Review and appropriately edit each article for the publication. Additional duties include, properly formatting the articles and communicating with the Staff Editors
Qualifications: Current or recent student, excellent writing and proofreading skills
Time Commitment: Approximately 5 hours a month, for a term of 1 year
Support and Supervision: INFORMS membership department staff
Position Title: Social Media Coordinator (2)
Work Location: Virtual, via email and conference calls; in person at the INFORMS Annual Meeting (free registration and some travel reimbursement provided)
Impact: Educate the public in regards to Operations Research
Responsibilities: Update and oversee the various social media accounts associated with the publication (i.e. Facebook and Twitter), post engaging content to the accounts, interact with the public on a regular basis, and stay up-to-date with any social platforms changes
Qualifications: Current or recent student, some knowledge of SEO, keyword research and some familiarity with the most popular social media platforms
Time Commitment: Approximately 5 hours a month, for a term of 1 year
Support and Supervision: INFORMS membership department staff, INFORMS marketing department staff
