Association of Chairs of O.R. Departments

The purposes of ACORD are:

  • To encourage interest in the field of operations research and the management sciences;
  • To encourage discussion and interaction among individuals who serve as chairs, directors, and heads of academic programs in operations research and the management sciences;
  • To advise the INFORMS Board on aspects of the academic environment for operations research and the management sciences and to keep the INFORMS Board apprised of developments in this area.
Junior Faculty Interest Group

Junior Faculty Interest Group

JFIG creates a forum to increase junior faculty interaction with each other, with senior faculty, and with industry, and to provide opportunities for networking and collaborative research.

Military Veterans Interest Group

Military Veterans Interest Group

As the name implies, this Military Veterans Interest Forum is for veterans’ interests, and the only prerequisite is a (self-identified) interest in supporting or championing issues related to veterans and connecting on shared experiences. Military veterans have a strong presence at INFORMS. We’re everywhere, from being active members of the operations research (O.R.) and analytics community to serving in leadership roles.

Minority Issues Forum

Minority Issues Forum (MIF)

The purposes of the INFORMS Minority Issues Forum are:

  • To foster minority representation in OR/MS;
  • To develop ties between those interested in increasing the number of minority participants in OR/MS;
  • To disseminate information about the issues facing minority researchers and practitioners.
INFORMS PRIDE Forum

PRIDE Forum

The purposes of the INFORMS PRIDE Forum shall be:

  1. To encourage collaborative ties among individuals who share the objective of supporting and championing the interests of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and other (LGBTQ+) community.
  2. To encourage discussion and interaction among individuals having interest in fostering an equitable, inclusive, and safe environment for LGBTQ+ community in the profession of Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
  3. To encourage all forms of support for careers in Operations Research and the Management Sciences of individuals who self-identify as LGBTQ+ community members, and to publicize the successes of these individuals.
  4. Advise the Institute Board on issues facing the LGBTQ+ community in the profession.

Women in OR/MS

The purpose of WORMS is:

  • To encourage interest in the field of OR/MS
  • To encourage discussion and interaction among individuals having interest in the issues facing women and their relationship to the profession of OR/MS
  • To advise the INFORMS Board on aspects of issues facing women in the profession of OR/MS and to keep the INFORMS Board apprised of developments in this area
