Association of Chairs of O.R. Departments

The purposes of ACORD are:

  • To encourage interest in the field of operations research and the management sciences;
  • To encourage discussion and interaction among individuals who serve as chairs, directors, and heads of academic programs in operations research and the management sciences;
  • To advise the INFORMS Board on aspects of the academic environment for operations research and the management sciences and to keep the INFORMS Board apprised of developments in this area.

JFIG creates a forum to increase junior faculty interaction with each other, with senior faculty, and with industry, and to provide opportunities for networking and collaborative research.

Military Veterans Interest Group

Military Veterans Interest Group

As the name implies, this Military Veterans Interest Forum is for veterans’ interests, and the only prerequisite is a (self-identified) interest in supporting or championing issues related to veterans and connecting on shared experiences. Military veterans have a strong presence at INFORMS. We’re everywhere, from being active members of the operations research (O.R.) and analytics community to serving in leadership roles.

The INFORMS Minority Issues Forum fosters minority representation in OR/MS, builds connections among those committed to increasing participation, and shares information on the challenges facing minority researchers and practitioners.

INFORMS PRIDE Forum

PRIDE Forum

The Pride Forum is open to LGBTQ+ members and their allies within INFORMS. The forum promotes LGBTQ+ allyship, supports LGBTQ+ in oOperations Rresearch and Mmanagement sSciences (OR/MS), and fosters an inclusive environment in the OR/MS community. The forum encourages collaboration, mentorship, free dialogue, and representation, while advising INFORMS leadership on issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community.

WORMS is committed to the advancement of women in operations research and management sciences. Our forum provides a platform for networking and mentorship at all career stages to promote women’s participation and professional development in OR/MS.
