Regional Chapters

Our goal at Atlanta chapter of INFORMS is to provide an environment where academicians and practitioners with interests in Operations Research and Management Science can collaborate and share their experiences. The chapter tries to hold monthly meetings where you can learn more about "The Science of Better" and network with the experts in the field. During our monthly meetings, distinguished speakers share their practical experience or research in the field O.R.

The purpose of our chapter is to serve the needs of our ORIE/IROM graduate student body. We provide service through: promoting the excitement and interest in O.R., creating a community for our student members, providing academic and job resources, encouraging and facilitating the exchange of O.R. ideas, and adding any resources that do not exist which may benefit our members. This is an open group; we encourage our members to participate, contribute, and enjoy the benefits we offer.

Our membership is up slightly and our finances are strong. Needless to say, this would not have happened without the support of our members and the high level of effort and activities of our officers all of whom have demanding day jobs. The strength of the chapter is in its members. Of course, attending our meetings, encouraging colleagues to attend and participating activity in our meeting is the most important way to strengthen our chapter. You are not required to join INFORMS to be a member of our Chapter but our hope is you will. The size of our membership and the participation of our members helps us attract great speakers and makes the informal gatherings before the meeting more interesting. We encourage you and your colleagues to join.
