The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS^®) today announced three finalist schools in the competition for the UPS George D. Smith Prize, an award created to strengthen ties between academia and industry. The award recognizes excellence in preparing students to become practitioners of analytics and operations research.

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS^®) has announced the six finalist organizations that will compete for the 2013 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and the Management Sciences, a prize for excellence in advanced analytics, that will take place in San Antonio, Texas next spring.

Wagner Prize by CPMS, the association’s Practice Section, to the U.S. Coast Guard and its research partner, the University of Southern California’s Viterbi School of Engineering.
